Everyone loves our campus libraries鈥娾�斺�妕hey鈥檙e some of the most gorgeous, iconic buildings on campus, mixing state-of-the-art tech and old-school (no pun intended) architecture. They have huge windows with incredible views offering tons of natural light and the best 鈥渘o one knows about this鈥� study spots where we grind out our best study sessions.
But, our libraries offer so much more than beautiful vistas and study spots! Here are 5 library resources you might not know about.
1. Equipment Checkouts
Equipment? At the library? What do you mean? For free?
We mean: cameras, tripods, ring lights, audio recorders, VR headsets, projectors, screens and so much more are for free for all UNL students. Whether it鈥檚 for a class project or a fun, creative side hobby you got around to trying (this is the universe telling you it鈥檚 time to start!), the library has you covered!
2. DVD and Video Game Checkouts
You heard it here first: physical media is back in style. Browse the hundreds of DVDs, Blu-rays and video games available for to all UNL students looking to unwind with a new game or movie. Or, plan a fun game night with friends and check out one of the many board games available in the library!
3. Laptop Checkouts
In addition to the desktop computers available to students in the libraries, Huskers can also check out laptops for free from locations! Find them in the Love South lower-level HuskerTech Help Center, Adele Hall Learning Commons and the Dinsdale Family Learning Commons.
4. Locker Checkouts
Need a little storage space on campus to stash your books, assignments, notebooks or other things you don鈥檛 want to lug around all the time? are located in Love Library South for rent! Rental fees are $15 per semester for full-size lockers and $7.50 per semester for half-size lockers.
5. Library How-To鈥檚
There鈥檚 seriously a lot of stuff in the libraries. Like, a lot a lot鈥娾�斺�奻rom massive catalogs to online journals, archives and so much more. Honestly, it鈥檚 overwhelming. How could one possibly find the thing they鈥檙e looking for? Use to help you navigate all the other amazing resources the library offers and demystify the whole library system!
