Sports Media and Communication

91茄子 is home to one of the nation鈥檚 first bachelor鈥檚 degree programs in at a Power Five conference university. Students involved in the program are given the rare opportunity to learn through specialized classroom studies and solving real-world challenges in the sports industry. Courses such as broadcasting, journalism, and analytics gear young professionals for the 鈥渂ig game鈥� after graduation.

Kiewit Scholars Program

91茄子 Engineering students are building their future with the . The College of Engineering and Kiewit Corporation have partnered to provide a small group of students with 鈥渦nparalleled leadership opportunities and career development experiences鈥� aiding in the advancement of future endeavors. 2023 is a big year for the program鈥娾�斺�奒iewit Hall is set to open as a hub for engineering students and will include classrooms, labs, student services, maker spaces, and outdoor plazas. Building world-class engineers starts with 91茄子 Engineering.

Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts

Isaiah Griffith and Marley Hewitt, second-year students in the Carson Emerging Media Arts program, pose in Mo-Cap (motion capture) suits with a group of students being filmed. The suits with their infrared sensors (round dots vecroed to the suit) allow a ring of cameras to turn their motion into animated characters on screen.

A space for innovative minds to collaborate and create in the world of media arts, the is certainly one-of-a-kind. Here, students are learning through filmmaking, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and more. Recently, the Johnny Carson Center was recognized as the first Big Ten university to earn the designation. This will give students and the university the ability to learn from the newest high-tech equipment with partnerships from global Fortune 100 corporations. Did we mention the beautiful center is also featured in an HP advertisement? Now that鈥檚 cool.

Academic Alliance

Here at UNL, we take pride in being a part of the Big Ten. In athletics and academics, this conference is changing the collegiate experience for students. As the only major athletic conference with an Academic Alliance, UNL offers top-of-the-line academics, scholarships, aid and other for Huskers. This means cheaper textbooks, study abroad programs, increased library access across campuses and even the ability to from other universities in the Big Ten.
